Our team is growing! We are hiring for both a therapist/evaluator and interns.

Qualifications for a therapist/evaluator: We are able to hire pre-licensed therapists and licensed therapists. Since we are governed by the Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB) in addition to the Department of Regulatory Agencies, therapists at Nova are expected to go through the SOMB application process to become a therapist and/or evaluator.

Qualifications for interns: Must be a student at University of Denver, MSU Denver, or UNC Greeley.

Duties: Intakes, individual therapy, and group therapy. You could also provide substance use therapy and evaluations if interested.

Applications for therapists should be emailed to sera.bennett@novacounseling.net and applications for interns should be sent to ashley.charbonneau@novacounseling.net
The application process is as follows:
-Please complete the enneagram. If you do not know what this is, that is okay! All of the therapists at Nova have taken it, and it provides helpful information about consultation/supervision needs. There is a free app (do not buy anything) that helps people find their type, and this website also provides information of what the enneagram is: https://enneaapp.co
-Please answer the following questions: 1) Why are you drawn to an agency that primarily works with individuals who have committed sexually-based offenses? (I know you are at RSA now but I'd love to hear more about why you'd like to continue working with this population.) 2) What biases do you have toward this population and how would/do you manage them?

Breaking the cycle of abuse and preventing future victims requires clinicians to work on both sides of trauma because most people hurt others and most people are traumatized at some point in their lives. While our specialty is working with individuals who have committed sexually-based offenses, most of our clients have their own significant trauma. Research suggests individuals who commit these types of offenses have higher ACE scores than the general population, and we take this into account when working with court-ordered clients. We believe our work is much more than "working with sex offenders," in that we provide trauma treatment and restorative justice practices as well as contributing to a safer, just world.

We are a supportive team and offer weekly two-hour staffings/group supervision and individual supervision (for LPC, LAC, LCSW, LMFT, and SOMB). Three of us also have our own private practices and can offer business coaching if you are in the beginning stages of starting your own practice.

We have offices in Lakewood, Westminster, Boulder, and Greeley. Most of our clients are required to attend in person sessions.
